What if you had a motor that was to be built at 8:5 to 1 you set everything up for that. I'm using a pro-charger and the boost is at 10 lbs., I can't remember what the timing was set at. So far would you think that it would over heat with everything set for that compression?
Because the real comp ratio was more like 10:5 to 1.

The 1986-89 Acura Integra had 11:1 as the compression ratio on that N/A engine. Modern N/A cars probably have more. Also 8.5:1 is a traditional, even old-school, compression ratio used in turbo cars.

You may want to invest on an intercooler and then play with the timing.

The final compression can lead to detonation.

Normally, the way you fight detonation is octane, timing, basically just tuning.

I have two cars in which the compression is around 10:1. and I'm running around 8psi. Both applications work well with 93 octane gasoline.
